Service area in WowServe isn't a radius on a map — it's the combination of where your company is based and what kinds of work your team is set up to do. Both are configured in Settings & Admin.
Set your company address
In Settings & Admin → Company, the Address field is where your trucks roll from. This anchors routing and is the address that shows up on proposals and invoices.
Pick the trades you serve
WowServe organizes work by trade — HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, and so on. Your active trades are shown in Settings & Admin → Service Categories at the top of the page. They determine which service categories and subcategories are available to your team.
Customize service categories
The Category Tree on the same page shows every service category and subcategory your business handles. For HVAC, that means categories like Heating (with subcategories Furnaces, Boilers, Heat Pumps), Cooling, Indoor Air Quality, and so on. You can:
- + Add Category to create a new top-level grouping.
- + Subcategory to add a leaf under an existing category.
- Click the edit (pencil) or delete (trash) icons next to any item to change it.
The badges on each subcategory show how many job types and skills it's linked to — keep an eye on those if you're pruning the tree.
Why this matters
Service categories drive your pricebook, your inventory, and how customers describe the work they need done on your booking form. Setting them up once at the start saves a lot of cleanup later. If you ever want to start over, the Reset to defaults button restores the standard taxonomy for your active trades.
