Two places in WowServe let you skip menus and just type what you want: Quick Search at the top of the screen, and the AI Assistant in the left rail. They overlap a bit but each is best at certain things.
Quick Search (⌘K or Ctrl+K)
Quick Search is the box at the top of every page (the one with the magnifying glass and a ⌘K hint). It's instant and best for:
- Jumping to a customer: type a name, hit Enter.
- Jumping to a job: type the job number or customer name.
- Jumping to a module or settings page: type "billing", "skills", "live dispatch".
- Running a shortcut: e.g., "create proposal," "new team member."
It surfaces results as you type. Use the keyboard to pick one and you're there.
AI Assistant (left rail)
The AI Assistant is conversational. It's the right tool when:
- You want a calculated answer ("what was last month's revenue?").
- You're describing an outcome, not naming a thing ("show me jobs that are likely to run over today").
- You want the system to do something ("schedule a maintenance visit for next Tuesday").
- You want to chain steps ("find every customer on Standard tier who's booked over $5k this year and tag them as Premium candidates").
It also accepts voice input — useful if you're walking to the truck or your hands are dirty.
A rule of thumb
Use Quick Search when you know the noun (this customer, that page). Use the AI Assistant when you're describing the verb (do this, find that, calculate this).
